In August 26th, 2009 the 6.5 meter San Pedro Mártir Telescope (SPMT) primary mirror reached peak temperature in the Steward Observatory Mirror Laboratory. To commemorate this event, members and friends of the Synoptic All-Sky Infrared Imaging Survey (SASIR), which will use the SPMT to synoptically survey the entire Northern Hemisphere at infrared wavebands, gathered in Tucson to celebrate.
